MICHAEL E. GRENERT is a partner of L&R. Mr. Grenert graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelors Degree in 1991 and earned a J.D. degree with honors from New York University School of Law in 1995. He was also Valedictorian of the Class of 1987 from Montclair High School in Montclair, New Jersey. Mr. Grenert spent both of his summers during law school (1993 and 1994) as a summer associate at Liddle & Robinson. After graduating from NYU School of Law, Mr. Grenert was the law clerk to Judge Richard Newman of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. As a law clerk, he drafted several published opinions, including the Woods-Pirozzi v. Nabisco Foods, 290 N.J. Super. 252 (App. Div. 1996) decision that was noteworthy for establishing that an employer can be liable under New Jerseys Law Against Discrimination for the sexual harassment of an employee by an independent contractor if the employer is negligent in handling the employees complaints about the contractors behavior.
Upon completion of his clerkship in 1996, Mr. Grenert became an associate of Liddle & Robinson. He became a partner of the firm in 2001. Mr. Grenert has worked on numerous cases representing both employers and employees in connection with termination, unfair competition, compensation and related claims, has represented individuals under regulatory investigation by the NASD and the New York Stock Exchange and handles arbitrations between customers and their brokers and brokerage firms.
When not practicing law, Mr. Grenert is an avid tennis player. He played varsity tennis in high school and junior varsity tennis at Princeton University and continues to play competitive tennis.
